Duck, Mr. Duck is a fun and competitive multiplayer game where players control teams of ducks and engage in battles to eliminate each other's ducks. The inclusion of various weapons adds depth and strategy to the gameplay, making each match dynamic and unpredictable.
The concept of hotseat gameplay, where players take turns using the same device, adds a social element to the experience, fostering interaction and competition among friends or family members gathered around a single screen.
With its quirky premise and engaging mechanics, "Duck, Mr. Duck" is a game that offers plenty of laughs and memorable moments for players of all ages. It's likely to appeal to those who enjoy multiplayer party games and classic arcade-style gameplay with a modern twist.
DownloadThe game was created in the last century, more specically in the year 1998, making it a true FIN classic with stunning color graphics in true 320x200 personal computer resolution. This however means, that to run this gem, you will probably need an emulator with ms-dos such as DosBox to succesfully play it.
If my memory serves me correctly, Borland C3.1 was used as the C compiler, which means that the game is a 16-bit MS-DOS game. Some routines (background parallax scrolling) were written direclty in machine language for performance, therefore it cannot be compiled for higher bit architectures with ease. The .zip file contains the C source code. Files with the .dmd extensions are .bmp files stripped of all header and metadata and compressed with a homebrewn run-lenght compression routine, in order to be able to fit the game on one floppy disk (if unnecessary files are removed in addition to that). The size limitation of one floppy disk was imposed because the game was intended for the Discover Game Competition, where one of the rules stipulated that the game must fit into a single floppy disk.

Why don't programmers like nature?
Because it has too many bugs and too little documentation!

Why did the graphic designer bring a ladder to work?
Because they heard the design was going to the next level!
